DoPlanning and the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER):

The Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER) is made up of about 1,500 members, not only rheumatologists but also people professionally related to Rheumatology like scientific researchers, medical documentalists and pharmacists.

It is a scientific nonprofit association, with the aim of promoting research on rheumatic diseases to benefit patients from it and deal with those issues related to this speciality.

A large amount of information coming from documents and associates’ interaction is generated as a result of this great deal of activities.

More specifically, the SER has work teams whose members are widely spread over the country.

The SER needed a tool to manage work teams, their interactions and documents that fulfilled certain requirements:

Easy and flexible administration with regard to the SER staff. It should be very easy to create and manage new groups where to include the professionals in a fast and simple way Adequate permissions management. Every group should get their adequate privacy. Furthermore, it should be possible to delegate the tasks of creation and definition of groups so that the people in charge of the groups could be independent Easy to use for the group members, with no training needed Access through the internet Low price

In summary, the SER wanted to have its own professionals’ social network fitted with a suitable privacy, all this managed through a simple and independent administration and at a reasonable price.

The SER took DoPlanning as a solution to meet this kind of needs, especially the Association work teams’ management. DoPlanning fulfilled all the requirements and in addition contributed some extra functionalities at a very low price being a rental model without long-term commitment.
